Offbeat Scholarships

Everyone has heard about left-handed scholarships — a scholarship available to college students just for being left-handed. Most people probably just assume that it's an urban legend, but the truth is that such a scholarship does exist. The best part of all is that it is only offered to Juniata students. While I was researching this scholarship, I came across some pretty odd scholarships, so I decided to post some of them here.

Buckley Scholarship
$1,000 scholarship for left-handed students at Juniata College.
Zolp Scholarship
Full tuition for all four years to Loyola students who are Catholic with the last name Zolp.
Stuck at the Prom Contest
$3,000 scholarship for the creator of the best prom formalwear made out of duct tape.
Chick and Sophie Major Memorial Duck Calling Contest
$1,500 scholarship to any high school senior who can call a duck.
Tall Club International Student Scholarship
$1,000 scholarship for first year college women who are at least 5'10" and men who are at least 6'2".
Little People of America Scholarship
Scholarship for students under 4'10".
NAAFA Scholarship
$1,000 scholarship for fat students who are working to advance fat acceptance.
Patrick Kerr Skateboard Scholarship
$5,000 scholarship for first year college students who are skateboarders.
SAMMY (Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year) Award
$7,500 athletic performance scholarship sponsored by the "got milk?" campaign.
