Friday was Bill and Dawn's wedding. Bill (AKA Crazy Bill, AKA Crazy Fucking Bill) was my supervisor at Krispy Kreme; well, he was the one I usually worked with. We'd spend most of the night goofing off and part of the night working. There were lots of nights when trays were thrown all of the production and processing areas because customers would come to the drive-thru while we were running our production. We were the only people who could run an entire shift with just two people. In fact, we were so good that eventually the managers started sending the second shift production workers home early so they could save money (those cheap bastards) because they knew we could do the production without a problem. One day we thought it'd be funny to do the first half of first shift's production and processing before our shift ended just so nobody would have anything to do for their first four hours — the managers were not very happy.
Working with Bill was awesome. Between the 1099 powder bombs, five pound cream doughnuts, fuck yeah shirts, super blueberry doughnuts and sleeping on the processing table there was always something to keep the job interesting.
Not too long before I moved to Harrisburg, and consequentally quit my job at Krispy Kreme, Bill's best friend, Crazy Donnie, started working production. He was going to work third shift, so Bill and I were training him, and suddenly things became crazier, funnier and messier. Donnie didn't really like production and ended up quitting before he completed his training; but the few days I worked with him were quite an experience.
The wedding was a lot of fun even though I didn't know anyone other than Bill, Dawn, and Donnie (who was the best man). I got to meet Dawn's family, some of Bill's family and Donnie's dad. My first order of business was to get Donnie drunk (despite what you'd think by looking at him, he's actually a lightweight so this was easy). We started off with Shannon Shamrocks (really called Green Eyes, but they changed the name for the special occassion). There was an open bar all night, but Donnie was drunk before the cocktail hour ended...
Bill and Dawn's wedding was by far the most fun out of all the weddings I've been to and I think it has a lot to do with the fact that it was a small wedding. There were only four people at the head table and they spent most of their time walking around and mingling with the guests. I really enjoyed being able to spend a lot of time with Bill, Dawn and Donnie throughout the wedding and I hope Bill and Dawn live a great life together.
